Bio/Tour:
Carmen Traub is an award-winning songwriter. Most of her songs have been written from her own painful, and occasionally, joyful experiences. “Super God” expresses the ultimate rescue from a broken heart. Her song “Super God”, in both video format and song only, is garnering wins in film festivals and song contests, including the 2019 Hollywood Songwriting Contest. The video is set to screen in Los Angeles at the 2019 LA LIVE Film Festival in November 2019, and recently screened in the 2019 ACDC International Film Festival, as well as screening online in the 2019 International Underground Film Festival Paris as a winning selection. “Super God” garnered a win in the American Tracks Music Awards as well.
In 2019, Carmen’s song “Abrasive” was also a winner in the American Tracks Music Awards, as well as an Official Selection in the ACDC International Film Festival; the video for “Abrasive” was screened in that live venue, along with her “Super God” video.
“Abrasive” was tested on a CHR radio station Z95.3 in Vancouver Canada and aired for over 8 months in rotation, and charted. “Abrasive” is currently going out to commercial US radio stations for a larger roll-out. “Abrasive” is an empowering song, showcasing the struggle against bullies; written from her own experience with bullies. She hopes to help others get free from abusive relationships. Her song “Say It”, produced by Bulldog and remixed by Dale Penner, aired on over 40 commercial stations across Europe.
Two co-written songs have been placed in two movies: 1. Bar Hopping (IMBD), songs: “The Disillusioned” and “Lollipop”. 2. Shut Up And Shoot (IMBD), song: “Lollipop”. Both songs co-written with Barry Coffing (who co-wrote the #1 hit “How Do You Talk To An Angel”). “The Disillusioned” and “Lollipop” were produced and mixed by Dale Penner, and remixed by Members of Boomtang Boys, appearing courtesy of Virgin Records and EMI Music Canada. Carmen sings the songs under the alias name of Porcelain Girl. Her video for “Lollipop” aired on Much Music Canada. The video was directed and edited by Rosi Moyer.
Carmen also writes and produces a public access talk show in Los Angeles called “Brokenhearted Hollywood”. The topic is how to pursue your dreams without getting crushed by them. She is trying to take her own advice :). Carmen is also an avid amateur photographer, snapping photos of birds for hours on end. Her most impacting encounter with birds was when she volunteered for Australian Seabird Rescue for 2 years, helping to rescue sea and shore birds from garbage entanglement.
