Joe Gundrum first started playing guitar in 1981 and immediately turned to songwriting as his means of expression. In 1989 he reached a turning point and began to seriously study songwriting. Each song he writes is a story about an event in his life, told in a storytelling manner. After leaving performing to raise a family in the year 2000, he returned in September of 2025 after seeing and being inspired by a local singer songwriter. Although he stopped performing, he continued to write during that time period and build his song catalogue. Being a resident of Chilliwack BC Canada, Joe can regularly be found at venues in and around the Fraser Valley. He is actively recording in his home studio and releasing music as each song is completed.

On June 3, 1989, Michael Damian’s Rock On reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the defining hits of the era. Now, Damian celebrates that milestone with Rock On ’26, a new version featuring legendary rock vocalist John Waite.
Released through Virgin Music Group and produced by Grammy Award-winning hitmakers Tom Weir and Larry Weir, Rock On ’26 brings fresh energy to the classic while keeping the attitude and spirit that made the original a chart-topping hit. Decades later, the song continues connecting with audiences worldwide.
“Rock On has always had a special place in my heart,” says Damian. “To see it still reaching audiences all these years later is amazing. Having John Waite join me on this new version made it even more special. Great rock songs find a way to live on.”
The release launches the next phase of Damian’s music journey, leading into a full album to follow. The next single, Mixed Emotions, will continue that rollout, with select new music also planned to be featured on CBS’ #1 daytime drama, The Young and the Restless, where Damian continues his legacy role as Danny Romalotti.
From the top of the Billboard charts to a career spanning music, television, film, directing, and Broadway, Michael Damian continues to evolve while staying connected to the sound and spirit that first made audiences take notice. His acclaimed starring turn in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat earned him a Grammy nomination, adding another milestone to a career built across stage and screen.
Rock On ’26 will be available on all major streaming platforms beginning June 3rd.
