Tommy discovered his passion as a songwriter and author after losing his wife, Deborah, to an aggressive form of brain cancer. Throughout her battle, they kept God at the forefront, as they always did together. Three years later, God called her home.

To cope, Tommy began attending grief classes. He was told to write a short story on his experience to share. His classmates suggested he make it into a song so he headed to Nashville. Shocked after hearing the song, he knew this was God encouraging him to continue. In 4 short weeks, he wrote a book, Miss Her More Today Than Yesterday.

Now just over 3 years later, with no experience in writing, Tommy Rice has written over 215 songs with 117 of those recorded and 12 number ONE songs. In 2021, Tommy was nominated for Crossover Artist of the Year. In 2022, he won Country New Group of the Year. In 2023, he was nominated for Country Breakthrough Artist of the Year and he won IMN Inspirational Song of the Year. He has had 5 number ONE songs with IMN Network. He is a featured artist on Museboat Live Radio, with his song “Eternal Promise of Love,” charting at number 7 for 2022 out of over 30,000 entries, and his song “There is No Love Like Our Love,” charting number TWO in 2023 out of over 50,000 entries. His song “Can I Ever Love Again” landed in the Top 10 of the World Songwriting Awards for the Best Modern Country Song category, which spans over 129 countries. His songs are being played WORLDWIDE in England, Norway, Finland, Germany, Russia, China, and many other countries! In 2023, he had nearly 10 MILLION views on his music on YouTube alone.
He was honored in 2023 to become a CMA (Country Music Association) member and a member of the ISSA (International Singer Songwriter Association).
