The Perfect Storm is a Pop Rock/Alt band that knows how to make waves. Formed by longtime friends James Krakat, Matty Kirtoglou, and Ethan Lynch, this dynamic trio blends raw talent, tight harmonies, and a love for storytelling to deliver a powerful sound that strikes right at the heart. Known for their catchy melodies and rich vocal layers, The Perfect Storm crafts songs that are equally suited for a rock-filled road trip or a reflective country night under the stars. The band’s journey began in 2020, when James and Matty started jamming together, finding musical solace during the height of the pandemic. Isolated but determined, James went on to record a solo album, Just Me My Guitar and Harmonica, which gave him space to explore his country roots. When restrictions were lifted, he and Matty reconnected, rekindling their musical partnership with James on guitar and lead vocals, and Matty bringing his rhythmic fire on drums, along with his own vocal harmonies. By early 2022, the duo invited James’s longtime friend Ethan Lynch to join in their jam sessions, bringing a new energy to their sound. The trio clicked, bonding over shared influences and a love for blending genres. After testing the waters with covers like their rock-fueled rendition of “Born to Be Wild,” the trio took on the name The Perfect Storm, to reflect their unique blend of pop, rock, and alt-country vibes. Performing at venues across New York’s Capital District, with regular gigs at the Rustic Barn in Troy, The Perfect Storm quickly built a dedicated fanbase. By summer 2022, the band dove into writing and recording their debut album, Maiden Voyage, eager to put their own stamp on the pop rock and alternative music scenes. Their first single, Lucky Guy, released in July 2023, has already made waves, climbing to Number 5 on the National Radio Hits Hot 40 chart. With distribution through MTS Records/ Virgin/Universal, The Perfect Storm is gearing up to take their music to national and global audiences, in early 2025. Maiden Voyage is set to be a defining release, capturing the heart of a band that started from a simple jam and grew into a powerful, harmonious force ready to make their mark.
