Billy F. Otis has made his mark on the radio world with his debut single “Fantasy Across The Room”. The single garnered major Top 5 chart activity on both the Hot AC & Top40 formats and that has now set in motion the release of his latest offering in “Front Page News”, a song that he co-wrote with the legendary Walter Egan. Even though Billy got started late in life playing music he’s making up for lost time with the release of this new single. Billy is still writing and singing “Songs About Life You Want To Hear” and guess what, he’s a story teller. “This is a song that anyone can identify with. Who hasn’t ever wished that they could open up their Sunday paper and find nothing but good news to read. No more hate, no more war. Everyone had plenty to eat and everyone got along. What a concept? Who wouldn’t want to read that on a Sunday morning? Well, that’s the story this song tells” says Billy. His music career started late, when he was 40 years old to be exact. His brother-in-law gave him a C harmonica and instructional book for his 40th birthday. Billy started to learn to sing and play the harmonica and within a few years he was fronting The Crow Valley Band, which was a fixture on the Washington, DC bar and night club circuit. The Crow Valley Band was good and they played the Blues. In his mid-fifties Billy taught himself to play guitar and started writing songs. “Front Page News” is a co-write with Walter Egan. Walter is best known for his Top 20 Hit “Magnet and Steel” and “Hearts On Fire” which was penned for Gram Parsons and Emmy Lou Harris. “Front Page News” was written, recorded, recorded again and then sat for a time as Billy got sober. Now in recovery Billy is ready to release “Front Page News” to radio and let it see the full light of day. Fast forward to today Billy is playing, writing and singing music full time and there is nothing else he wants to do. His greatest ambition is to perform his original music wherever and whenever he can. It’s his hope that you enjoy this tune half as much as he did creating it. “It’s my hope that you enjoy this new song half as much as I did in creating it”, says Billy. With the release of “Front Page News”, the follow-up to his debut hit single “Fantasy Across The Room” Billy F. Otis now takes it to an even higher level.
